Stakeholders in the Middle East are paying significant attention to the growing smart city industry. There have been a number of smart city conferences in the last year, sponsored by both the public and private sectors. Governments have been shifting their services online and on mobiles. New construction projects often incorporate new “smart” dimensions. This should come as a surprise to no one. There is ample opportunity in this region to develop smart technology innovations. In all four of the major emerging component areas, the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) present important market opportunities.

However the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA), KSA has taken this up with a new degree of seriousness as this is a vital component of the Kingdom’s National Transformation Program 2020. Under the direct supervision of MOMRA, Nispana in partnership with Dar Al Riyadh has put together the Saudi Smart Cities 2017 which is scheduled for 16, 17 & 18 March to help achieve the Ministries goals which include:

  • Announcement of the milestones achieved

  • The strategy of the municipality in terms of smart cities going forward

  • Discuss how urban planning contributes to creation of smart cities

  • Comparison of the Kingdom’s cities to global smart cities

  • Discuss and learn about best practices of smart cities from across the world including Korea, China, USA, UK, Amsterdam, etc and also learn about new upcoming pilot projects

  • Debate within the municipalities and announcement of new projects.

If your company has solutions for this specific market, this is an event you cannot afford to miss! Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your solutions to the decision makers and key stakeholders from across all the municipalities and ministries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
