The Reporting and Publishing Support is part of the Coordination Office mandate in the ESA Human Spaceflight Directorate (D/HSF).

The Reporting and Publishing Support prepares the Directorate’s formal internal and external reports and inputs to the ESA Publications Division, and maintains high quality presentations and brochures on the status of the ESA Human Spaceflight programmes.

The Reporting and Publishing Support also prepares high quality Information and Outreach material used to inform key stakeholders on programme activities, for discussions on future activities and for VIP visits.

The Reporting and Publishing Support is aimed to maintain the visibility of the Directorate’s activities, also internally. The latter may involve supporting the preparation of internal and external communication products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of the Quarterly Reports on the Directorate’s activities;
  • Support the preparation of the Directorate’s inputs to ESA publications, such as the quarterly ESA Bulletin and the ESA Annual Report;
  • Coordinate the production of ad-hoc Information and Outreach material related to HSF projects;
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, presentations and fact sheets;
  • (Monthly) Reporting to management on progress;
  • Interface with ESA entities as required, in particular with the ESA Internal Communication Office (LEX-CI) for the ESA Intranet.

Specific Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and an excellent command of the English language, especially written;
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills;
  • General interest in and good understanding of technical, programmatic and policy issues;
  • Ability to generate high-quality drafts and PowerPoint presentations;
  • High degree of computer literacy - Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel and desktop publishing software;
  • Proven experience in a similar function within a multinational, public-sector organisation would be an asset;
  • Ability and willingness to work to demanding deadlines.

Support Period: 01 Oct 2009 to 31 Dec 2011 with possible extension
Remuneration: Depending on candidate qualifications
